TENT SCRAPWORK BACKPACK - BLACK
The GL SCRAPS backpack is made from the scraps of vintage U.S. Army tents right here in Los Angeles. In partnership with Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA), when you buy one GL SCRAPS Backpack, we give 5 backpacks to students who need it most in Los Angeles.
You may not think that a backpack is something that students need for virtual learning. However, what we learned from social workers at CISLA is that students now, more than before, need a place to house all of their virtual learning supplies. Especially in homes where families have limited space. Help us, help students stay organized.
"We believe every child in America should have equal opportunity and access to a quality education. As children all over the country return to school this week, it is important to be conscious of the equity gap among rich and poor students, especially underserved Latino and Black students, those without full digital access, and supplies, English learners and those with disabilities, who will be left even farther behind." -CISLA
SCRAPWORK GARMENTS ARE PRODUCED BY USING WASTAGE THAT WOULD TYPICALLY BE DIRECTED TO A LANDFILL. INSTEAD, THOUSANDS OF SCRAPS WERE GIVEN TO LOCAL QUILTERS TO CREATE YARDAGE THAT WE REFER TO AS GREG LAUREN SCRAPWORK.
